Fresh Faces in Updated PECaD Marketing Campaign

The Program for the Elimination of Cancer Disparities (PECaD) is excited to announce and present new community member faces and stories as part of diversifying our marketing campaign. In November 2015, we announced we were working on adding active PECaD members into our community outreach campaign by highlighting individuals who are passionate about reducing cancer disparities to help refresh our prevention messages. Beginning in January 2016, PECaD started running the new advertisements. Our campaign mirrors the previous campaign and focuses on cancer prevention messages that relate to lifestyle/behavior, smoking, sexual transmitted disease prevention, and cancer screenings. The campaign also incorporates messages about PECaD and how we are working to end cancer disparities in the region. The ads will appear in the following places:

  • Newspapers including: The St. Louis American, the Belleville News Democrat, the East St. Louis Monitor and Old North Community News
  • Side of Metro buses
  • Inside MetroBus and MetroLink cars

PECaD’s marketing campaign targets key zip codes and high-poverty areas in north St. Louis city and county and the Metro East area, which gives us the opportunity to communicate strong cancer prevention messages in areas of excessive burden and disparity of cancer morbidity and mortality. We thank our PECaD members for their willingness to be involved with the project and hope to hear where you see the ads! Below are examples of the newspaper campaign.
