, is a professor at the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. She is also heavily involved with Vetta Sanders Thompson, PhD The Program for the Elimination of Cancer Disparities (PECaD) and sits on the Disparities Elimination Advisory Committee as a voting institution member. Dr. Sanders Thompson is also the program director for PECaD’s Community Research Fellows Training (CRFT) program. The CRFT program just completed the fourth cohort, now with over 125 graduates since the program’s inception in 2012.
Dr. Sanders Thompson’s research concentrates on the health and well-being of minority communities. She focuses on the importance of service to underserved populations through research, practice and community collaborations. She currently has a Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) grant to address measurement of community engaged research and its impact.
Dr. Sanders Thompson is an associate member of the Siteman Cancer Center, and a faculty affiliate of the Department of African and African-American Studies, as well as the Interdisciplinary Program in Urban Studies. Furthermore, she is a licensed clinical psychologist.
