In 2024, the National Cancer Institute (NCI) created the Cancer Screening Research Network (CSRN) to develop and conduct multi-center cancer screening trials. These studies will study new technologies for cancer screening – such as multi-cancer detection tests – with the goal of reducing cancer-related illnesses and deaths.

The Vanguard study is the first study being done by the CSRN. Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle is the coordinating center for this study. Nationwide, there are nine access hubs, including the Siteman Hub, that will enroll participants locally.

The Siteman Hub includes Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis, Missouri, its five satellite locations, and seven independent health systems across Missouri and Illinois who are members of BJC Collaborative. We are aiming to reach diverse and under-represented populations across the region.
