Kreisel_Krupnick_Gelman_LabThe Department consists of the Divisions of Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Urologic Surgery. All of our surgeons are board certified (or are eligible for and pending certification) by an accredited board of the American Board of Medical Specialties. Many of our faculty members are active in leading professional societies and have assumed prestigious positions in academic surgical organizations in this country and abroad.

Pediatric Surgery

Pediatric surgeons who treat a wide spectrum of medical conditions in children, from congenital anomalies (birth defects) to hernias, traumatic injuries, burns and cancerous tumors.

General Surgery - Vascular

Surgeons offering minimally invasive surgical techniques and other treatment to patients with vascular disease including abdominal aortic aneurysms, thoracic aneurysms, renal aneurysms, carotid artery disease, arterial occlusive disease, brachiocephalic and upper extremity occlusive disease, aortoiliac and lower extremity occlusive arterial disease, and venous and lymphatic disease.

General Surgery - Transplant

Surgeons who perform abdominal organ transplants for people with advanced liver (hepatic) disease and end-stage renal (kidney) disease and who treat complicated problems - such as large liver tumors - that might otherwise cause patients to be listed as transplant candidates elsewhere.

Urologic Surgery

Surgeons offering a wide range of treatment options - both surgical and nonsurgical - for medical conditions of the urogenital tract, including the prostate and testicles in males and the kidneys and bladder in both males and females.

Public Health Sciences

The Division of Public Health Sciences conducts world-leading research, education and outreach to prevent cancer and other diseases, promote population health, and improve quality and access to health care in Missouri and beyond.

General Surgery - Colon and Rectal

Surgeons offering a comprehensive approach to patient screening and treatment of diseases of the colon and rectum, utilizing both surgical and non-operative techniques.

General Surgery - Acute and Critical Care

Surgeons providing comprehensive care of severely burned patients on an inpatient and outpatient basis; clinical services in a Level 1 Trauma Center and outpatient trauma clinic; and surgical critical care in a state-of-the-art Surgical Intensive Care Unit.

Cardiothoracic Surgery

Physicians providing comprehensive surgical treatment of heart and lung disease.

General Surgery - Minimally Invasive

Surgeons who perform minimally invasive and open surgery to treat gastrointestinal (GI) conditions and who collaborate with other specialties on minimally invasive procedures.

General Surgery - Hepatobiliary Pancreatic and GI

Surgeons who treat - and serve as a referral center for - disorders of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and gastrointestinal tract.

General Surgery - Endocrine and Oncologic

Surgeons who treat patients with diseases of the endocrine system (the adrenal glands, pancreas, parathyroid, thyroid and other endocrine organs); disorders of the spleen; diseases of the breast, including breast cancer; head and neck cancer; gastrointestinal cancer; melanoma; sarcoma; hernias; and other conditions.
