Division Staff Accepted as NIMHD Research Institute Scholars

Saira KhanSaira Khan, PhDCongratulations to Saira Khan, PhD, postdoctoral research associate in the Division of Public Health Sciences, and Muyibat Adelani, MD, assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery, on their acceptance as 2017 National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD) Health Disparities Research Institute (HDRI) Scholars. Drs. Khan and Adelani were accepted as scholars through a highly competitive process, with emphasis on current and past health disparities research. Both Drs. Khan and Adelani will attend the HDRI symposium in August as part of the scholar acceptance.

AdelaniMuyibat Adelani, MDThe aim of the Health Disparities Research Institute is to provide scholars with a broad overview of the leading issues facing minority health and health disparities, and stimulate discussion of current research projects. Scholars will participate in HDRI lectures, seminars, interactive sessions, and small group discussions with leading scientists and National Institutes of Health staff. The HDRI program is aimed at early career investigators.
